The increase of autumn grain is a foregone conclusion, and the grain will be harvested again throughout the year

The State Council Information Office held a press conference on the morning of October 23, and the relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said that Chinas autumn grain production increase was a foregone conclusion, and the whole years grain was harvested again.

This years autumn grain area is 1.31 billion mu, an increase of more than 7 million mu over last year, laying the foundation for increasing production. Secondly, the improvement effect of major grain and oil crops in large area per unit yield is beginning to show. This year, China will focus on promoting the improvement of unit yield in 200 large corn counties and 100 large soybean counties, selecting dense-tolerant varieties and supporting high-performance planters. It is estimated that the increase in unit yield in 300 key counties has contributed 73% to the grain harvest, effectively hedging the impact of floods, droughts and other disasters on grain production.

In addition, in the first three quarters, Chinas poverty alleviation achievements were consolidated. By the end of September, 63.5 percent of the subjects monitored in 22 provinces in central and western China had eliminated the risk of falling back into poverty, and the rest had implemented assistance measures. The proportion of central government subsidies for promoting rural revitalization used for industrial development has reached 60%. A total of 32.97 million people worked out of poverty, exceeding the annual target.

In the first three quarters, the added value of the national agricultural and sideline food processing industry above designated size increased by 0.4% year-on-year. The per capita disposable income of rural residents reached 15,705 yuan, an increase of 7.3% in real terms.
